Trek Facilities

The transportation to and from the basecamp is included in the trek fee, if opted for.

It depends upon the size of the group and availability of vehicles. Generally, we arrange for a Bolero, Swift, Innova or a Tempo Traveller.

We will only have the pick-up points as mentioned in the Trek Itinerary. But the vehicle can be arranged on request on extra charges.

Yes. As soon as you register for the trek, you will be able to join a WhatsApp group from the dashboard a month before the trek. There, you will find all your fellow trekkers. You can start interacting with fellow trekkers and planning your trek as a team.

The cost is already included in your Trek cost in case you opted for the transportation in package.

In a Bolero, about 5-6 trekkers can be accommodated. In a Tempo Traveller, about 15 trekkers can travel together.

We’ve set up special toilet tents at every campsite to keep things simple and comfy.

Inside these tents, you’ll find a deep hole to do your business. We’ve got a pile of soil and a shovel nearby to cover things up – it’s what we call a “dry toilet,” straightforward and eco-friendly.

To make things easy, we’ve got toilet paper on hand. And for a nice touch, there’s even a bit of room freshener in there. It’s the cleanest and easiest way to answer nature’s call out in the wild. So, when you’re trekking with us, your comfort is our priority, even when it comes to the basics.

At high altitudes, your core body temperature can drastically fall if you bath with cold water as it is difficult to get hot water at such altitude. However, you can opt for our Luxury Bundle plans for such services.

On easy-moderate treks, 2-3 trekkers share the tent. On treks climbing beyond 13000 feet, 3 trekkers will share the tent.

Camping tents are completely waterproof and there will be small window through which fresh air enters the tent.

Group size vary and if you have bigger group then opt for customized trek or submit your enquiry for a better and family experience.

There are no charging points at the campsites. We suggest that you bring your devices fully charged. You may also carry power banks as a back-up.

Sometimes at the basecamp you may get charging point but it’s not the case at every basecamp so do carry your phone fully charged or carry power banks.

At the basecamps, your accommodation will be arranged in rooms or camps depends on the trek. However, mostly you are going to stay in rooms at basecamp. The sharing depends upon the number of beds and the trekkers present.

It is always better to experience the company of each other and get to know the other trekkers in a better way.

However, you can opt for our Luxury Bundle plans for such services.

Network on the base camp depends from trek to trek. You can visit the trek-specific FAQs on the trek page to find out.  Please inform your friends/family members about the network situation in advance.

On your trek with us, we’ve got your meals covered with healthy and tasty food three times a day. Expect mostly North Indian vegetarian dishes, keeping your taste buds happy.

Picture your plate: you’ll have roti (that’s Indian flatbread), some veggie sabzi, rice, and comforting dal (lentils). Familiar favourites like khichdi, rajma chawal, pulao, pancakes, and sandwiches will also be on the menu. And when you need a warm pick-me-up, there’s plenty of hot chai and soothing soup to enjoy. So, while you’re out there trekking, we’ve made sure your meals are not just nourishing but also a delightful part of your adventure.

Let us know in advance and submit your query.

Absolutely! We’ve got options for Jain, gluten-free, or vegan meals during our treks. Just let your experience coordinator know your preference through a call or an email.

We will provide you with pocket snacks on the trek. You may carry any food on the trek if you want to.

We make sure you have hot water in the evenings. If you’d like it at other times too, consider bringing a thermos flask. It’s a convenient way to keep your drink warm whenever you feel like having it throughout the day.

If you find yourself in such a situation, there’s no need to worry about any additional payment if a large group is undertaking the same trek around your preferred time.

We appreciate your enthusiasm so much that we offer a special 15% discount for repeating the same trek.

To avail of this offer, simply reach out to your Experience Coordinator via email. They’ll guide you through a unique internal process to register for the trek at the discounted rate. Your fitness level plays a crucial role in determining the success of your trek. Here are four significant outcomes when you lack fitness:

  • Lack of Enjoyment:

Without adequate fitness, the trek becomes less enjoyable as physical challenges overshadow the experience.

  • Struggle to Blend In:

Fitness issues may hinder your ability to seamlessly integrate with the trekking team, impacting the group dynamic.

  • Missed Transformative Experience:

A lack of fitness may deprive you of the profound and transformative experiences that trekking can offer, limiting the overall impact.

  • Possibility of Being Sent Down:

In extreme cases of unfit conditions, there’s a chance you may be advised to descend from the trek for your safety.

This underscores the importance of being physically prepared for a trek. The positive aspect is that achieving the required fitness level is not a daunting task. All it takes is initiating a fitness routine 25-30 days before the trek commences.

Yes, you can embark on the trek, provided you engage in proper physical preparation. However, a few considerations apply:

Yes, we have had both men and women above the age of 50 who have joined as solo trekkers in our groups.

At Hike2Heaven, we firmly believe in the importance of children participating in treks. The youthful and observant nature of children makes trekking an optimal time to introduce them to the outdoors. During treks, they absorb crucial lessons in resilience, confidence, and leadership, while also developing a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

Kindly write us an email for a trek suitable for children as per weather conditions.

8 to 9 years old is the perfect time to take children on a high-altitude Himalayan trek.

School/College Programs

Schools are increasingly recognizing the advantages of utilizing nature as a classroom. Outdoor learning significantly enhances the comprehension of concepts and improves retention of knowledge. Students’ powers of observation are honed, and their curiosity is piqued. Engaging in trekking and camping in the wilderness, along with collaborative teamwork, brings forth and refines latent qualities and virtues in children. This environment sets the stage for facilitators to direct attention toward the intended learning objectives.

Some schools incorporate these treks as part of their educational field trips, while for others, it forms a co-scholastic program that enriches students’ life skills and positively influences their attitudes toward the environment. It serves as an ideal CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) program for IB (International Baccalaureate) Schools and aligns with the criteria for the gold level of the IAYP (International Award for Young People) program.

Though we decide along with the school on this, an ideal age would be 11 to 17. Again, we have taken younger students as well – but this is done only after consultation with the school and taking all issues into consideration.

As of now, we have six treks that lend themselves very well to the program. They are Dayara Bugyal, Kedarkantha, Brahmatal, Chopta Tungnath, Chandrashila and Ali-Bedni Bugyal treks. All six of them go up to an altitude of about 4000 m, cresting in a summit. The treks are spectacular as well as safe for young professionals and students who haven’t trekked in the high altitude.

The fee is varied as per trek on a per-participant basis. This includes all expenses, per participant, from basecamp to basecamp. All other services, such as transport and stay before and after the program, will be charged as actuals.

Inclusions:

  • Accommodation during the trek (camping – 2 or 3 per tent)
  • All meals – vegetarian
  • Trekking permits and forest camping charges
  • Trekking equipment (tents, sleeping bags etc.)
  • Safety equipment (first aid, medical kit etc.)
  • Services of an expert trek leader (qualified in basic/advanced mountaineering courses)
  • Services of a support team (Guides, cooks, helpers, porters)

Exclusions:

  • Food during transportation to and from the base camp.
