Day 1

Rishikesh to Dhak to tugasi village

Drive to Dhak: The first leg of the journey involves a drive from Rishikesh to Dhak, covering a distance of approximately 200 kilometers. This scenic route takes trekkers through the changing landscapes of Uttarakhand, offering glimpses of local life, verdant valleys, and the unfolding Himalayan terrain.

Transition to Tugasi: From Dhak, trekkers embark on a short trek to Tugasi Village. This initial trekking phase introduces adventurers to the rural beauty of the region, with Tugasi offering a serene environment and a glimpse into the traditional lifestyle of the mountain communities.  

Warm Welcome: Tugasi Village, nestled in the heart of the Himalayas, offers a quiet respite from the journey's start, allowing trekkers to acclimatize and prepare for the upcoming trek. The village's traditional homes and friendly locals provide a warm welcome, setting the stage for the adventure ahead.

Day 2

Tugasi village to Guling/Akhrotghetta to Khullara camp

Ascent to Guling/Akhrotghetta: The day's trek from Tugasi towards Guling or Akhrotghetta unfolds through lush forests and along mountain ridges, offering stunning views and a peaceful trekking experience. This segment of the journey allows trekkers to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Himalayas.

Khullara's Natural Splendor: The trek culminates at Khullara Camp, a picturesque site known for its breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. Khullara serves as a strategic base for exploring the higher reaches of the region, including the famed Kuari Pass.

Day 3

Kuari Pass Adventure: Covering a distance of 7.65 kilometers, the trek from Khullara to Tali via Kuari Pass is a highlight of the journey, offering panoramic views of the Garhwal Himalayas. The pass itself is a vantage point for some of the Himalayas' most iconic peaks, providing a memorable trekking experience.

Tali Lake Side Camp: The day ends at Tali Lake Side Camp, a serene spot near the shores of Tali Lake. The campsite offers a tranquil setting for rest and reflection, surrounded by alpine forests and the gentle sounds of nature.

Day 4

Tali to Gorson bugyal to auli joshima

Meadows of Gorson Bugyal: The trek from Tali to Gorson Bugyal traverses through enchanting meadows, offering easy trails and spectacular views. Gorson Bugyal, with its wide-open spaces and lush greenery, provides a stark contrast to the rugged mountain terrain encountered earlier.

Auli's Ski Slopes: The journey continues towards Auli, known for its ski resorts and stunning landscapes. The descent from Gorson Bugyal to Auli introduces trekkers to the ski slopes and the cable car, which is one of the highest and longest in Asia.

Day 5

Joshimath to Rishikesh

How To Reach

By Air

Dehradun’s airport is the Jolly Grant Airport, which is located 20 km away from the city centre. You can hire a taxi from the airport to reach the city, which should take you 40 to 45 minutes depending upon traffic.

By Train

Dehradun is connected by regular train services to various cities. The Dehradun Railway Station is located 1-2 kilometres away from the city centre and should take you only ten minutes, depending on traffic.

By Road

Dehradun is well connected to cities like Delhi, Shimla, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Agra, and Mussoorie by various buses. Most operate from the ISBT near Clement Town, with departures every 15–60 minutes. Additional services run from the Mussoorie Bus Station near the railway station and the Delhi Bus Stand on Gandhi Road.

Is there mobile signals available on treks?

If you are going on a trek don’t expect mobile signals. There are few spots on the trails of few treks where you might find a single tower or something but it always depends if that is enough to make a call or not.

How do you manage toilets?

We use portable toilet tents for sanitation needs, as permanent structures may not available. These are dry toilets, so please bring wet wipes or tissue paper for personal hygiene.

Do I need to carry trek equipment?

For this trek you just need a day bag to carry during the trek, extra luggage can be left behind at the camp site. Proper bedded swiss tents are available on this trek.

Can we consume Alcohol during the trek?

It’s a strict no. If you fall sick during the trek due to alcohol consumption H2H has the right to cancel your trek and send you back to base village. No expenses shall be refunded in that case and you will have to pay additional for stay at base village.

How do I prepare for the trek?

Start running/walking at least 3-4 Kms everyday.

What kind of shoes will I need? Does a sport shoe work?

If it’s a snow trek a good trekking shoe is mandatory. If you buy a new shoe do walk for few days so that it fits you well and doesn’t leave you with blisters while you trek. If it is a summer trek or post monsoon trek a shoe with good grip and ankle support will do.
