About Monsoon Adventures
Everything about Monsoon
Monsoon treks reveal a completely different side of the Himalayas, with landscapes turning lush green, waterfalls flowing at full force, and trails wrapped in mist. While many high-altitude Himalayan regions become risky due to heavy rainfall and landslides, certain areas remain safe and ideal for trekking.
Popular monsoon treks include Valley of Flowers, Hampta Pass (early monsoon), Sinhagad Fort Trek, Rajmachi Trek, and Kudremukh Trek. The best regions during monsoon are the Western Ghats (Maharashtra & Karnataka) and rain-shadow areas like Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh.
Temperatures during monsoon treks usually range from 15°C to 25°C, depending on the region. Humidity levels are higher, especially in the Western Ghats, while regions like Spiti remain relatively dry.
Safety is a key consideration in this season. Trekkers should be cautious of slippery trails, leeches (in forest areas), and sudden weather changes. Choosing the right region is crucial—avoiding landslide-prone Himalayan routes and opting for safer alternatives ensures a much better experience.
