Trek Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Dehradun and Drive to Sankri

Arrival in Dehradun: Start your journey with your arrival in Dehradun, the gateway to many Himalayan treks.

Drive to Sankri: From Dehradun, embark on a scenic drive to Sankri, passing through Mussoorie and alongside the Tons River. Sankri, nestled in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary, serves as the base camp for your trek.

Overnight in Sankri: Spend the evening preparing for the trek ahead. Rest and acclimatize to the altitude.

Day 2

Sankri to Silkota

Trek Begins: After breakfast in Sankri, start your trek towards Silkota. The trail introduces you to the lush landscapes of the region, with dense forests and vibrant flora.

Camp at Silkota:Arrive at Silkota, a serene campsite offering stunning views of the valley below. Set up camp for the night.

Day 3

Silkota to Bhoj Gadi

Ascend to Bhoj Gadi: Continue your trek from Silkota to Bhoj Gadi. This part of the journey takes you through beautiful meadows and patches of Bhoj trees, providing a picturesque setting for your trek.

Camp at Bhoj Gadi: Reach Bhoj Gadi, known for its expansive views and tranquil environment. Spend the night camping under the stars.

Day 4

Bhoj Gadi to Pushtara via Phulara Ridge

Cross Phulara Ridge: The day’s highlight is crossing the Phulara Ridge, offering panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. The trek to Pushtara involves navigating through undulating ridges and meadows.

Arrive at Pushtara:After crossing the ridge, descend to Pushtara, your campsite for the night. The area is remote and peaceful, perfect for reflecting on the day's journey.

Day 5

Pushtara to Sankri

Return to Sankri: Begin your descent from Pushtara back to Sankri. This final leg of the trek takes you back through the forested trails and into the welcoming village of Sankri.

Celebrate the Journey:Spend your last evening in Sankri, celebrating the completion of your trek. Share stories and experiences from the journey with your fellow trekkers.

Day 6

Departure from Sankri to Dehradun

Departure to Dehradun:After breakfast in Sankri, depart for Dehradun. The drive back marks the end of your Himalayan adventure, carrying with you memories of the beautiful landscapes, challenging ridges, and serene campsites.

Reflections: Back in Dehradun, take a moment to reflect on the trek’s experiences, from the ascent to Silkota and crossing the Phulara Ridge to the quiet beauty of Pushtara. The journey offers not just a physical challenge but also a profound connection with nature and a sense of accomplishment.

Getting There

How To Reach

By Air

Dehradun’s airport is the Jolly Grant Airport, which is located 20 km away from the city centre. You can hire a taxi from the airport to reach the city, which should take you 40 to 45 minutes depending upon traffic.

By Train

Dehradun is connected by regular train services to various cities. The Dehradun Railway Station is located 1-2 kilometres away from the city centre and should take you only ten minutes, depending on traffic.

By Road

Dehradun is well connected to cities like Delhi, Shimla, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Agra, and Mussoorie by various buses. Most operate from the ISBT near Clement Town, with departures every 15–60 minutes. Additional services run from the Mussoorie Bus Station near the railway station and the Delhi Bus Stand on Gandhi Road.

Is there mobile signals available on treks?

If you are going on a trek don’t expect mobile signals. There are few spots on the trails of few treks where you might find a single tower or something but it always depends if that is enough to make a call or not.

How do you manage toilets?

We use portable toilet tents for sanitation needs, as permanent structures may not available. These are dry toilets, so please bring wet wipes or tissue paper for personal hygiene.

Do I need to carry trek equipment?

For this trek you just need a day bag to carry during the trek, extra luggage can be left behind at the camp site. Proper bedded swiss tents are available on this trek.

Can we consume Alcohol during the trek?

It’s a strict no. If you fall sick during the trek due to alcohol consumption H2H has the right to cancel your trek and send you back to base village. No expenses shall be refunded in that case and you will have to pay additional for stay at base village.

How do I prepare for the trek?

Start running/walking at least 3-4 Kms everyday.

What kind of shoes will I need? Does a sport shoe work?

If it’s a snow trek a good trekking shoe is mandatory. If you buy a new shoe do walk for few days so that it fits you well and doesn’t leave you with blisters while you trek. If it is a summer trek or post monsoon trek a shoe with good grip and ankle support will do.
