Located in the serene Urgam Valley within the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, the Bansi Narayan Temple stands as a testament to 8th-century architecture, dedicated to Lord Krishna. This solitary structure lies 10 km beyond Bansa, the final village in Urgam Valley, ensuring a tranquil and undisturbed environment as there are no human settlements in the vicinity.
Perched at an altitude of about 3600 meters, the temple offers a breathtaking view of the Himalayan range of Nanda Devi. The temple is accessible through a trekking route, which adds an adventurous element for pilgrims and tourists alike. The surrounding region experiences heavy snowfall during winters, making it accessible only in the warmer months from April to October.
