Day 1

From Kathmandu to Lukla

Embark on your adventure:  with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, soaking in breathtaking views of the majestic Himalayas. Lukla serves as the gateway to the Everest region, marking the starting point of your trekking expedition.

Day 2

Trekking to Namche Bazaar

Embark on a trek: from Lukla to Namche Bazaar, a vibrant hub known as the Sherpa capital. This leg of the journey introduces you to the stunning landscapes of the Khumbu region and the rich Sherpa culture.

Day 3

Journey to Dole

Set off from Namche Bazaar: towards Dole, where you'll trek amidst awe-inspiring vistas of the Himalayan range, catching sight of iconic peaks like Ama Dablam and Thamserku.

Day 4

Continuing to Machharmo

Continue your trek: from Dole to Machharmo, passing through picturesque alpine meadows and soaking in panoramic views. Machharmo provides an ideal spot for acclimatization and preparation for the ascent to Gokyo.

Day 5

Trekking to Gokyo

Arrive at Gokyo: home to the stunning Gokyo Lakes, nestled amidst breathtaking Himalayan peaks including the majestic Cho Oyu.

Rest and Exploration in Gokyo

Summiting Gokyo Ri

Embark on the: exhilarating climb to the summit of Gokyo Ri, witnessing awe-inspiring sunrise vistas of Everest, Lhotse, and other towering peaks before returning to Gokyo.

Crossing to Thangnag

Embark on a trek: from Gokyo to Thangnag, traversing part of the Ngozumpa Glacier, which serves as a staging point for the upcoming crossing of the Cho La Pass.

Over the Cho La Pass to Dzongla

Dzongla to Everest Base Camp and Back to Gorak Shep

Day 11

Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar to Pheriche

Return to Namche Bazaar

Trek from Pheriche: back to Namche Bazaar, enjoying the easier descent and immersing yourself once again in the warmth of Sherpa hospitality.

Completing the Circuit to Lukla

Getting There

How To Reach

By Air

Through airway means you have to take flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. From here you can reach EBC (Everest Base Camp) for trekking to Gokyo Lakes.

By Train

The nearest railway station to Kathmandu Nepal is Raxaul and Gorakhpur. However, Kathmandu's nearest railway station is Raxaul railway station. But there are two nearest railway stations to Kathmandu that are convenient for the travellers visiting Nepal from India, being Raxaul and Gorakhpur.

By Road

Jiri is pretty much the closest you can get to the Gokyo Lakes on roads. The drive from Kathmandu to Jiri takes around 8 hours by car or bus and then you can trek from there to the Gokyo Lakes, which takes around seven days.

If you are going on a trek don’t expect mobile signals. There are few spots on the trails of few treks where you might find a single tower or something but it always depends if that is enough to make a call or not.

How do you manage toilets?

We use portable toilet tents for sanitation needs, as permanent structures may not available. These are dry toilets, so please bring wet wipes or tissue paper for personal hygiene.

Do I need to carry trek equipment?

For this trek you just need a day bag to carry during the trek, extra luggage can be left behind at the camp site. Proper bedded swiss tents are available on this trek.

Can we consume Alcohol during the trek?

It’s a strict no. If you fall sick during the trek due to alcohol consumption H2H has the right to cancel your trek and send you back to base village. No expenses shall be refunded in that case and you will have to pay additional for stay at base village.

How do I prepare for the trek?

Start running/walking at least 3-4 Kms everyday.

What kind of shoes will I need? Does a sport shoe work?

If it’s a snow trek a good trekking shoe is mandatory. If you buy a new shoe do walk for few days so that it fits you well and doesn’t leave you with blisters while you trek. If it is a summer trek or post monsoon trek a shoe with good grip and ankle support will do.
