About Summer Adventures
Everything about Summer
Summer is one of the best seasons for trekking in India, especially for exploring high-altitude Himalayan regions that remain snow-covered during winter. As the snow melts, trails open up to lush green meadows, alpine lakes, and clear mountain views, making it an ideal time for both beginners and experienced trekkers.
Popular summer treks include Kedarkantha (early summer), Hampta Pass, Bhrigu Lake, Valley of Flowers, and Roopkund Trek. Regions like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are at their best during this time, along with parts of Kashmir and early-season Ladakh routes. These areas offer a mix of scenic beauty, accessibility, and diverse terrain.
Temperatures during summer treks typically range from 10°C to 20°C during the day and can drop to 0°C to 5°C at night at higher altitudes. Weather is generally stable, though occasional rain may occur in lower regions.
From a safety perspective, summer is considered beginner-friendly due to better trail conditions and lower risk of extreme weather. However, proper hydration, sun protection, and gradual acclimatization are still important, especially for high-altitude treks.
