About the Trek

Mythology, Best Time & More More

Significance

Mythology and Cultural

According to Hindu mythology, the Char Dham pilgrimage was established by the sage Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century as a means to revive the spiritual teachings of Hinduism. It is believed that visiting these sites helps one attain Moksha (liberation) by providing the divine blessing of the deities residing in each temple: Lord Shiva in Kedarnath, Lord Vishnu in Badrinath, Goddess Ganga in Gangotri, and Goddess Yamuna in Yamunotri. This sacred journey represents the spiritual path leading to the union with the divine.

Month
