Day 1

Dehradun to Gangotri

Travel to Gangotri: Begin your journey with a drive from Dehradun to Gangotri, traversing through beautiful valleys and alongside rivers. Gangotri, a holy town, serves as the starting point for the trek.

Preparation and Acclimatization: Spend the evening in Gangotri preparing for the trek. Visit the sacred Gangotri Temple and acclimatize to the altitude.

Day 2

Day 2 Gangotri to Bhojbhasa 14KM

Trek Begins: Start your trek from Gangotri towards Bhojbhasa. The trail runs along the Bhagirathi River, offering stunning views and introducing you to the rugged terrain.

Camp at Bhojbhasa: Reach Bhojbhasa and set up camp for the night. Enjoy the serene environment and prepare for the next day's journey.

Day 3

Day 3 Bhojbhasa to Tapovan 6 KM

Ascend to Tapovan: Trek from Bhojbhasa to Tapovan, passing through Gaumukh, the snout of the Gangotri Glacier. The climb is steep but rewards with breathtaking views of the Shivling and Meru peaks.

Explore Tapovan: Spend time in Tapovan's alpine meadows, known for their natural beauty. Camp here and enjoy the panoramic views of the Himalayas.

Day 4

Day 4 Tapovan to Sundarvan 7KM

 Trek to Sundarvan: Depart from Tapovan, trekking towards Sundarvan. This part of the trek introduces more challenging terrains and the untouched beauty of the Himalayas.

Camp in Sundarvan: Set up camp in Sundarvan, a less frequented spot known for its tranquility and stunning natural surroundings.

Day 5

Day 5 Sundarvan to Tapovan 7

Return to Tapovan: Trek back from Sundarvan to Tapovan. This return journey allows you to take in the majestic beauty of the region from a new perspective.

Overnight in Tapovan: Spend another night in Tapovan, resting and reflecting on the journey so far.

Day 6

Day 6 Tapovan to Bhojbhasa 6KM

Descend to Bhojbhasa: Begin your descent from Tapovan back to Bhojbhasa. Enjoy the changing landscapes and the opportunity to reflect on the spiritual and natural wonders experienced.

Overnight in Bhojbhasa: Camp for the night in Bhojbhasa, preparing for the final leg of the trek back to Gangotri.

Day 7

Day 7 Bhojbhasa to Gangotri 14KM

Return to Gangotri: Trek from Bhojbhasa back to Gangotri. This final stretch marks the end of your Himalayan trek, bringing you back to the sacred town.

Rest in Gangotri: Spend the night in Gangotri, perhaps revisiting the temple to offer gratitude for the journey completed.

Day 8

Day 8 Gangotri to Dehradun

Journey Back to Dehradun: Depart from Gangotri, heading back to Dehradun. This drive concludes your trekking adventure, carrying memories of the stunning landscapes, spiritual insights, and challenging treks through the Himalayas.

How To Reach

By Air

Dehradun’s airport is the Jolly Grant Airport, which is located 20 km away from the city centre. You can hire a taxi from the airport to reach the city, which should take you 40 to 45 minutes depending upon traffic.

By Train

Dehradun is connected by regular train services to various cities. The Dehradun Railway Station is located 1-2 kilometres away from the city centre and should take you only ten minutes, depending on traffic.

By Road

Dehradun is well connected to cities like Delhi, Shimla, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Agra, and Mussoorie by various buses. Most operate from the ISBT near Clement Town, with departures every 15–60 minutes. Additional services run from the Mussoorie Bus Station near the railway station and the Delhi Bus Stand on Gandhi Road.

If you are going on a trek don’t expect mobile signals. There are few spots on the trails of few treks where you might find a single tower or something but it always depends if that is enough to make a call or not.

How do you manage toilets?

We use portable toilet tents for sanitation needs, as permanent structures may not available. These are dry toilets, so please bring wet wipes or tissue paper for personal hygiene.

Do I need to carry trek equipment?

For this trek you just need a day bag to carry during the trek, extra luggage can be left behind at the camp site. Proper bedded swiss tents are available on this trek.

Can we consume Alcohol during the trek?

It’s a strict no. If you fall sick during the trek due to alcohol consumption H2H has the right to cancel your trek and send you back to base village. No expenses shall be refunded in that case and you will have to pay additional for stay at base village.

How do I prepare for the trek?

Start running/walking at least 3-4 Kms everyday.

What kind of shoes will I need? Does a sport shoe work?

If it’s a snow trek a good trekking shoe is mandatory. If you buy a new shoe do walk for few days so that it fits you well and doesn’t leave you with blisters while you trek. If it is a summer trek or post monsoon trek a shoe with good grip and ankle support will do.
